Who are we? We are TeamStart. Teamstart is structured and run as a commercial enterprise with a socio-economic function. With our roots in the economic development community, our core mission is to provide resources to Canadian business owners to help them do the right things right. Our core value is to only provide know how that comes from objective, independent, experienced, knowledgeable, and reputable sources. Our free resources for Canadian businesses include a portal to carefully vetted web resources and a library of practical business and financial know how you can put to work immediately. TeamStart also sells Knowledge Tools that organizes a company's know-how and its business and financial strategies and resources, and builds their corporate memory. TeamStart was founded by Info L inc, chartered accountant John Voorpostel, Canadian business authority Rick Spence, Toronto's Learning Enrichment Foundation, and Dieter Soegtrop. Info L inc also owns and operates other initiatives such as Trusted Wisdom, Taxboard and iAccountants via agreements with others that allow initiatives to connect and bridge the private, non profit and public sectors effectively and efficiently. TeamStart and Info L inc can provide community cohorts, a private, secure, on line place and means of communication and collaboration. To the place we can add other individuals who add their own expertise and insights, and hopefully at least some who can ask the naive why not? And although Trusted Wisdom can provide a lot of useful information in a seminar to local business owners, the spirit and mission of a cohort, to find and inspire and drive a community to become the best it can be at, is found within the local Jim Collins BHAG community bus, driving with their community scorecard in mind Ideal outcomes are where participants apply what they have learned to and in their businesses, and grow as people and as business owners through their interactions and discussions with their cohorts. And as they collaborate and create conversations and inspire together they might even find something remarkable to do Can you imagine this? A Jim Collins ("Good to Great" and "Built to Last") bus full of high quality local business owners mission to help decide on and get to that "Big Hairy Audacious Goal.....that 10-to-30-year objective-like a big mountain to climb-that will serve as a unifying focal point of effort, galvanizing them to help "their city" become what it can be best at" We firmly believe that as these talented people begin to work together and interact and talk and improvise their way towards that BHAG, they're going to learn from each other and be more willing to share with each other, and they'll end up not only benefiting their chosen community, but growing their own businesses and as people. We will not pretend we'll get the “right” bus full the first or every time, but firmly believe that if we send enough busses out, a few groups of talented, motivated and inspired people are going to do some pretty remarkable things. We really believe Margaret Mead. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." That's our ideal. But we'll take a small, practical plan in Red Lake |
